After an indexed write, `other.merge([app: [rows: config.app.rows]])` skips
the `HeldList` because that source has no `rows[0]` siblings.
`other.navigate('app', 'rows')` is null.
Skip the list only when those indexed entries are actually beside it and
rebuild it.
