`ImapResponseComposerImpl::literal` is where this the litteral is being encoded. `FetchResponseEncoder::encode` then manages to close the bracket. > If I analyse the network traffic (-Djavax.net.debug=all), I can see many parts of the email, but I'm missing the closing tag +OK FETCH completed.
