Fabio Utzig commented on MYNEWT-692:
------------------------------------
Hi Pradeep, nice to hear! Here are some things which I would love to know:
1) Have you written any ethernet driver before (for any open-source OS or
similar) before?
2) What platforms do you have that you could use to test this?
3) Can you provide a somewhat comprehensive list of tasks necessary to succeed
in this endeavour (how will you do research, what will you read, what existing
examples you would use, etc)?
Don't feel intimidated by those questions, they are just for me to get an idea
of how much mentoring I would need to do and to get a better feel of how you
approach problem solving.
Cheers and good luck!

> Mynewt needs to have an Ethernet low-level layer driver/hal definition.
> Beyond proposing/discussing/defining how it needs to work, drivers should be
> added to the two most common ethernet supporting chips: K-64F and STM32Fxxx.
> Target BSPs that could make use of this are K-64F, STM32F767-Nucleo,
> STM32F429-Discovery and Olimex STM32-E407.
> PS: All STM32Fxxx based boards probably use the same enet peripheral which
> means one driver should suit them all!
