That's completely orthogonal topic... it is not as orthogonal as it may seem and also fairly independent from UI or user workflow. The situation changed with auto-nb-javac being very similar to javac of the same version. I would not have asked the same question of manual-nb-javac v11 running on JDK 11. Running auto-nb-javac v17 on JDK 17 gives no benefit.
