Review Comment:
IMO, 3. with URI and without deprecation. It's a potentially useful method.
We're currently looking to replace some possible calls to Toolkit.createImage,
right? In which case unsanitized input is already an issue?!! We could
possibly log URIs that do not start with `nbresloc:`, `file:` or `jar:file:`?
