I have no intention to fight on this, maybe I'll cast a 0/-1 vote on release, to make it known, that I don't agree with their assessment, but I will not go down the "discuss ad-infinitum" route. On the technical level: Because it is ugly. Forcing clipboard interaction into the EDT is one possible solution. We don't know yet how a full solution might look like and how this will play out. I have hoped, that this would be reproducible with plain swing, the first try failed for me and someone might file and issue against the JDK, that did not happen.
