Pekko gRPC has no built-in implementation of the standard gRPC health checking service, `grpc.health.v1.Health` (https://github.com/grpc/grpc/blob/master/doc/health-checking.md). `server/kubernetes.md` only describes HTTP health checks. Kubernetes gRPC liveness/readiness probes, grpc-health-probe, Envoy and other load balancers expect this service. grpc-java provides `HealthStatusManager`. Proposal: - Provide a `grpc.health.v1` service implementation with Scala and Java APIs, like `ServerReflection`. - Support `Check` and `Watch`, and a way to set the serving status per service (and for the empty overall service name). - Document how to add it to a server, and how to use it with Kubernetes gRPC probes. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
