   Jumping in on this issue though re-scoping it a little, I think more
sensible than opening a new one:

   After upgrading from 4.1.4 -> 6.0.0 I now have bar charts where the x-axis
is sorting alphabetically and I can't sort it by a different equivalent numeric
column. For instance on [tab 2 of this public
dashboard](https://analytics.a2gov.org/superset/dashboard/traffic-crashes/?standalone=2)
 the day of the week is sorting alphabetically:

src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/540a4cca-1c38-4342-8f42-cc3214aad2e9";
 />

   I have a "Day_Numeric" column specifically for this purpose, but I can't
select it on the "X-Axis Sort By" dropdown:

   <img width="1813" height="845" alt="Image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/3d9ab8ea-1563-4d19-8f87-b588318e0110";
 />

   I don't have an instance of 4.1.4 running to 100% confirm this is a
regression, but it feels like one - I don't think I would have gotten away with
deploying a public-facing chart where day of the week is sorted alphabetically
😭

   @dosu what do you think - is this a regression? In what PR did it get
introduced?
