Review Comment:
   Leaving as-is for consistency. `extra` and the other locals here aren't 
annotated anywhere else in this test file — the suite relies on mypy's 
inference — so annotating only this one wouldn't add type safety and would be 
inconsistent with the surrounding tests. Resolving.
