Review Comment:
   Verified at fa0de7b60c: `time.time()+30`, NaN, ±inf, zero and 300s+ε now 
raise `deadline`, exactly 300s passes, and each new bound is pinned by a test.

Review Comment:
   Verified at fa0de7b60c: the `"not a snapshot"` probe plus `None` and a dict 
now raise the fixed `TypeError`, and disabling the check fails 5 tests.
