GitHub user FrancescoCastaldi added a comment to the discussion: Does
https://github.com/preset-io/agent-skills/blob/master/plugins/preset-api-skills/README.md
 the stand skills the superset could use?

The short answer is no, `preset-api-skills` cannot be used directly with
standard open source Apache Superset without modification.

### Why preset-api-skills is Preset-specific
The skills in that repository communicate directly with the Preset Cloud
control plane (`https://api.preset.io/v1/`). They use endpoints that manage
Preset-exclusive resources, such as:
- Workspace provisioning and lifecycle management
- Preset user invitations, teams, and workspace permissions
- Preset API token authentication headers (`Preset-Api-Key` and `Preset-Secret`)

These endpoints and authentication contracts do not exist in the open source
Apache Superset codebase.

### What to use for open source Apache Superset: Superset MCP Server
If you want LLM agents (Claude, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, or local agents) to
interact with an open source Apache Superset instance, use the Superset Model
Context Protocol (MCP) server instead:

1. **Official Community MCP Server:**
You can run `@modelcontextprotocol/server-superset` via npx:
```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "superset": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@modelcontextprotocol/server-superset"],
      "env": {
        "SUPERSET_BASE_URL": "http://localhost:8088";,
        "SUPERSET_USERNAME": "admin",
        "SUPERSET_PASSWORD": "admin_password"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

2. **Built-in Superset MCP Service (Superset 6.x):**
Recent versions of Apache Superset include an internal MCP service located in
`superset/mcp_service/` (typically exposed on port 5008). It exposes native
tools designed specifically for open source Superset:
- `execute_sql`: executes analytical SQL queries against connected databases
- `list_dashboards`: retrieves available dashboards and metadata
- `list_charts`: inspects chart configurations
- `list_datasets`: fetches physical and virtual dataset schemas
- `get_chart_info`: inspects chart visual parameters and queries

These tools speak standard Superset REST APIs (`/api/v1/...`) and work on any
self-hosted deployment.
