GitHub user FrancescoCastaldi added a comment to the discussion: Native Filters state breaks after clearing and "Apply filters" button remains disabled (Table charts)
This behavior in Superset 6.1.0 is a known frontend state management regression involving `FilterBar.tsx` and the stage-and-apply filter workflow. ### Root Cause In `superset-frontend/src/dashboard/components/nativeFilters/FilterBar/`, the function `checkIsApplyDisabled` compares the count and contents of `stagedFilters` against `appliedFilters`. When a dashboard contains Table charts that do not have a dedicated primary time column assigned, clicking **Clear all** dispatches a state reset where filter keys are assigned `undefined` or `null`. The filter plugin treats `undefined` as an uninitialized state, causing an internal state race where `checkIsApplyDisabled` evaluates the staged state as identical to the initial state, keeping the "Apply filters" button permanently disabled. ### Practical Workarounds in 6.1.0 1. **Enable Instant Auto-Apply on the Filter:** Open the dashboard in Edit mode, click the gear icon to configure the native filter in the filter bar, and check the option **Auto-apply filter changes on selection** (or uncheck "Require Apply button" in the dashboard filter bar settings). Auto-apply bypasses the staged filter comparison entirely, applying selections directly to the Redux store on every click. 2. **Ensure Temporal Column Mapping on Table Chart Datasets:** Table charts frequently trigger this state desynchronization when the dataset lacks an explicit temporal indicator. In **Data -> Datasets -> Edit Dataset -> Columns**, ensure the datetime column has **Is temporal** checked, and select that column in the Table chart's **Time Column** setting in Explore. 3. **Dashboard LocalStorage Reset:** If an end user gets permanently locked in this disabled state, clearing the dashboard cache key in browser Local Storage (`dashboard_<id>_filters`) or performing a hard refresh (`Ctrl + Shift + R`) clears the stuck Redux state. This has been addressed in subsequent maintenance commits on `master` by ensuring "Clear all" stages explicit `null` values that reset the form state cleanly.
