GitHub user FrancescoCastaldi added a comment to the discussion: Dashboard page
stuck on loading after upgrading superset to 6.1.0

When a dashboard displays the loading spinner and then transitions into a blank
or black screen after upgrading to 6.1.0, it indicates that an uncaught
JavaScript error occurred during dashboard component hydration, triggering the
root React ErrorBoundary.

Here is the systematic checklist to diagnose and resolve this:

### 1. Check the Browser Console for the Stack Trace
Press `F12` and open the **Console** tab in your browser before loading the
dashboard. Look for the red error trace:
- `TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'filterId')`
- `ChunkLoadError: Loading chunk failed`
- `SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0`

The first error in the console will identify which component crashed.

### 2. Verify Database Migrations Completed
If migrations are incomplete, the `/api/v1/dashboard/<id>` payload will miss
expected relational attributes:
```bash
# Verify current Alembic revision
docker compose exec superset superset db current
# Run any pending migrations and initialize permissions
docker compose exec superset superset db upgrade
docker compose exec superset superset init
```

### 3. Clear Stale Reverse Proxy and Browser Asset Caches
In 6.1.0, JavaScript bundle chunk hashes changed. If Nginx or Cloudflare is
caching older `.chunk.js` assets, the browser will fail to resolve imported
components:
- Perform a hard refresh: `Ctrl + Shift + R` (or `Cmd + Shift + R`).
- Clear browser Application Storage (`localStorage.clear()` in DevTools
console).

### 4. Sanitize Legacy Filter Box or Orphaned Chart Metadata
If the dashboard was migrated from Superset 3.x or 4.x:
- Open **Dashboards -> Edit Dashboard Properties** (via the pencil icon on the
list page).
- Under the **JSON Metadata** field, check for references to deprecated
`filter_box` charts or orphaned chart IDs in `native_filter_configuration` or
`chart_configuration`.
- Removing orphaned filter references in the JSON metadata resolves the
hydration crash immediately.
