The existing translation regression check would miss a `msgstr`-only change like this: it detects confirmed translations becoming fuzzy, not changes to spacing or sentence structure. A separate check would be needed for this defect class. [[1]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/3f85ceb15b40bc913123791fa855aee4cdac6332/scripts/translations/check_translation_regression.py#L323-L350) There is also a distinction from placeholder compatibility: `Mostrando%sde itens%s` still contains both `%s` tokens, so successful formatting alone cannot establish that the sentence is correct. That translation is still present in the checked-out Portuguese catalog. [[2]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/3f85ceb15b40bc913123791fa855aee4cdac6332/superset/translations/pt/LC_MESSAGES/messages.po#L19033-L19037) I'd suggest keeping your adjacency heuristic as a locale-scoped review warning, rather than requiring placeholders to occupy the same textual positions as English. The full list would be useful for a Portuguese-speaking reviewer to separate spacing-only repairs from sentence rewrites. One practical caveat for the fix: marking these entries `fuzzy` would **not** hide them. Superset intentionally serves fuzzy translations in both frontend and backend builds, so they need correction or clearing rather than just that flag.
