WB11 LAUNCHES THE TUBE MUSIC NETWORK ON DIGITAL MULTICAST CHANNEL 11.2 -
05/31/06

WPIX Uses Multicast Technology to Bring Viewers the Only All Music Network
on Television

NEW YORK, May 31, 2006 - WB11/WPIX heats up New York this summer with the
June 1st launch of THE TUBE, the first 24-hour network devoted solely to
music programming.

THE TUBE features a bold playlist comprised of major and independent label
videos, as well as exclusive performance clips. In a vast departure from the
way music has traditionally been presented on television, classic
performances from legendary artists are featured alongside just-released
videos by current artists. Live and conceptual clips from Led Zeppelin, Tina
Turner, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley, the Rolling Stones, U2, Prince, Rod
Stewart and The Eagles are mixed with videos from today's best-selling acts
like Norah Jones, James Blunt, Dave Matthews, Sheryl Crow, Jack Johnson and
Coldplay. There are no reality shows, award shows or game shows on THE TUBE,
instead viewers get at least 50 minutes of music videos an hour. THE TUBE
Music Network is spearheaded by Les Garland, one of the creative forces who
helped develop the music television genre in the 1980's, serving as
co-founder/originator of both MTV: Music Television and VH-1. In the 90's,
Garland played an essential role in the domestic and international launch of
the interactive music channel, The Box, acting as senior executive vice
president. "THE TUBE distinguishes itself by offering top music programming,
and our partnership affirms our commitment to providing the highest quality
of entertainment and enhanced content for our audience," said WB11/WPIX Vice
President and General Manager Betty Ellen Berlamino.

"THE TUBE on WPIX in New York marks a major milestone in our 3 year history.
We've been amassing momentum since we launched in Los Angeles earlier this
month and we'll continue to fuel it as we roll out the Network in Chicago,
Philadelphia, Dallas and other markets this summer, eventually broadcasting
THE TUBE Music Network in 9 of the Top 10 DMA markets on Tribune stations
and 71 of the nation's top 100 markets counting the stations owned by
Tribune, Raycom Media and Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Garland added: "Since the Tube started signal testing in the New York
tri-state area, viewer response has been phenomenal. As one viewer from
Montclair, New Jersey wrote: Called in sick and watched The Tube all day.
Might have to be sick tomorrow too!." The free broadcast of THE TUBE Music
Network is achieved via multicasting, which allows WB11/WPIX to distribute a
secondary signal within the primary signal's digital bandwidth. Anyone with
a digital tuner can receive THE TUBE 24-hours a day, free over-the-air on
channel 11.2. By mid-summer, THE TUBE is expected to be available on cable
systems throughout the New York area.
