Unfortunately Amalia I don't think we'll be any happier if we waited for the
official releases. I had just about everything before it was released and so
did my friends and we were just as happy if not more happy when it was
finally released. I think it's an individual thing. Prince's fans always
complain about something. The surface of the complaint here is that the
material is recycled. But that's not the core. The core of the complaint, as
usual, is that Prince does not always give people what they want or expect
for their money. That has always been an issue in the Prince community and
unfortunately it will continue. The common consensus is that so far, nothing
on this new site justifies the $77 we paid for access. People who did not
join the NPG Music Club or were not fans before that time would probably see
some of these videos as having more value than those who previously received
them as members of the NPG Music Club. I'm happy that they get to see those
videos. I'm happy for them. I know what a great experience it was for me.
I'd like to see more at the LotusFlow3r site and I do think there should be
more, but there isn't. And him recycling old material that has already been
shared is somewhat shady... but so was closing the Music Club after
recruiting new lifetime members, so was shutting down the Controversy
magazine after making it officially acknowledged just because he wanted to
start his own dumb useless magazine, so was threatening fan sites, forcing
them to shut down just because he had a new project that he wanted to have
exclusive material. Which usually amounts to far less than what the sites
that were shut down offered. He's shady and slow at times. I can't say I
don't get pissed about it sometimes but I'm just going to try to enjoy the
things I can't change. That's just what works for me.
