Title: Untitled Document

Washington State asks two questions that are beyond the reporting requirements:  1) Do you live with family? 2) Are you covered by your family’s health insurance?  If No or Don’t Know, are you covered by any other insurance (employment benefits, Medicaid, SSI, etc.)?  In most cases this allows us to see if the graduate/leaver is living with their family at the time of the interview, and also if they are covered by their family’s insurance or if they are covered by their employer or by the state.

We also include a space that allows for the district to ask a series of their own questions, but we do not collect data on this information.  This information is only for district use.

Thanks!

Subject: [NPSO]: What data do you plan to collect?

A question has been posed to us about how many states are collecting data on independent living, social engagement or other questions beyond the reporting requirements.  We know that  you all have developed or are in the process of developing your follow-up survey questions for your state data collection systems.

Please reply to let us (and others)  if you are planning to include "more than" the minimal required questions about employment and education.  Thanks.
