Good for you Jackie Burr. As you know I was in the Oregon school system in the
50's and 60's from the third grade on. My school was in the middle of nowhere
down in south eastern Oregon in a town called Bonanza, a school of 300 students
(grade 1 through grade 12.) Later in life, I remember my principal reflecting
back to my first days in school, saying he did not know what he was going to do
about or for me, but he was going to try! That is what it takes is people
willing to try.

Subject: [NPSO]: News stories about post-school outcomes in Oregon

Hello all,

This is to call your attention to two news stories resulting from the recently
released Oregon annual special education report card (for the first time
including post-school outcomes data). Both stories quote our Oregon colleague,
Jackie Burr; the second story includes an interview with her!

>From the Oregonian, April 1, 2009: Oregon tracks special ed students after
>high school
http://www.oregonlive.com/news/index.ssf/2009/04/oregon_tracks_special_ed_stude.html

>From the Oregon Public Broadcasting, Think Out Loud show, April 7, 2009, Life
>After Special Ed
