National Post School Outcome Community of Practice

The National Post-School Outcomes Center located at the University of Oregon’s
nationally ranked College of Education, Secondary Special Education and
Transition research unit (http://sset.uoregon.edu/ ) and Technical Assistance
and Consulting Center (SSET/TACS) Outreach Center (http://tacs.uoregon.edu/ )
seeks a research assistant/associate to join a strong team of researchers and
technical assistance (TA) specialists. As researchers and TA specialists, we
have a proven track record of providing high quality, relevant, useful, and
timely technical assistance and research support to state departments of
education on post-school outcomes data collection, analysis, and use. This full
time position is based on an annual contract and is funded by grants from the
Office of Special Education Programs and Institute of Education Sciences of the
U.S. Department of Education.
We are looking for a new, enthusiastic, research-oriented team member to
support and enhance the diverse learning and working environment with the
National Post-School Outcomes Center and SSET/TACS. We invite applicants who
have
* knowledge of IDEA, specifically secondary transition,
* experience providing technical assistance at the state or national level,
* experience teaching secondary special education, and
* experience with direct research and or program evaluation pertinent to
secondary transition, post-school outcomes.
This position requires strong written and verbal communications skills. The
successful applicant will be able to communicate effectively with a variety of
consumers (e.g., State Departments of Education and teachers), gather
information, determine technical assistance needs from state level
professionals, present research-related information, or discuss state and
district issues related to special education. Furthermore, this applicant will
be able to contribute to the writing and production of a variety of traditional
and web-based tools and products for technical assistance, as well as
peer-reviewed manuscripts, and technical documents. Qualified applicants have
