National Post School Outcome Community of Practice
-------------------------------------------------------
Nevada gives a Senior Exit Survey (SES) just prior to high school completion.
It provides an opportunity for youth to share plans for the future and reflect
on how high school experiences prepared them for the postsecondary world. In
addition, the SES provides a means by which to introduce the post-school
survey, practice completing a similar survey, and to collect accurate contact
information that is used in locating the same students approximately one year
later.

We then send a letter the following March reminding students that the
post-school survey is coming. It opens, "Each year, the Nevada Department of
Education is required to collect information from students who left school the
year before. You may remember completing a Senior Exit Survey last year where
we asked you to provide us with information so we could reach you this year."

We have not written a curriculum or developed lesson plans.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Subject: [NPSO]: NPSO: Question from a state, Please respond

I have received a question from the field regarding teaching youth about the
post-school survey for Indicator 14. I am not aware of any, so I am reaching
out to the field. Has any state and/or district written a curriculum or
developed lesson plans for preparing their students for the Post-School Survey?
If so, would you mind sharing?
