My main computer is a Vista machine and will primarily use it for NSB work. Below are 2 related issues.
I am upgrading my app created with nsb 6.5, Win XP, active sync, a device emulator and device emulator manager. At the time, I could use the emulator without the device connected and work on my program. Now it doesn't work that way although I am following the same procedure I wrote down about a year ago. It cannot find the emulated device using the DMA port and the device not in its cradle. I did it before but not now. The process was: Load device emulator Install Active Sync Load device emulator manager Execute one of the runtimes...basic.ppc.exe or runtimefat.ppc.exe Install my app with F5 (or use explore in active sync) cradle the emulator using the emulator manager However, I can active sync the application to the device so long as the device is in the cradle but I have to debug using the device after each code edit. This would be my second choice. Second issue: I also cannot figure out how to use the MS emulator for Vista that I just downloaded. It connects fine with the ipaq device but how do I get the emulation on my pc without the device connected? Here, again, I can sync the program to the device if it is in its cradle. Second choice again. If there are any emulator gurus who can help me out, I will be very grateful.
