Hi George,
I tried to follow your steps exactly, but even then couldn't reproduce the 
error. Are you sure you opened a program file that actually has a form (one 
created in the IDE, not in code)? Otherwise this could happen; with the 
programs I opened I got a form displayed, but no code. So if the program you 
open only has code, it is possible that you have no window. But you should then 
be able to activate the project explorer using the "view" menu and then to open 
the code window.

I must say, you really had to go through a lot of unusual steps to provoke this 
"error" if you want to call it that!
