Hi John, Remember when we both tried the idea of increasing the bore diameter to raise the pitch? I made up two sticks with F# spacing and bores at 3/16" and one worked but the other resolutely stayed in F# pitch which was what you found as well I think. Even if you get the rise in pitch, which can happen, the tone and volume may not be acceptable. The other way which means fitting a sharp chanter reed could have the same bad effect on the sound.
