Also heavily biased in favour of those with money.
I once rewrote a verse of traditional song which became very popular in the local clubs in the 60's (because I learned it off a record and couldn't, for the life of me, understand the words of one particular verse, I made one up). It was picked up by other singers/groups in the area and did (to be honest) give me a rather smug feeling at the time. It's followed me around ever since and, last month, heard most of "my" verse being sung on radio.
I'm hardly likely to sue the singer, am I?
(I have looked and that particular verse doesn't seem to have existed prior to the date I wrote it) Er, don't ask which song - It's a secret between me and the chap I sang with at the time. It's my "one minute of fame".
