I know, Ipswich won the UEFA cup in 81. I started following Ipswich
around 78 when they were successful (glory hunter) and I went to
Molineux to see them whenever they came up to play Wolves. When I
started asking my Dad if we could go and watch other Ipswich games he
said it was too far and suggested I start following Wolves as it was
only 20 minutes away. So I switched to Wolves a couple of seasons later
in the 1980-81 season. However, if I was a true Glory Hunter I would
have stopped following them almost as soon as I started because we were
rubbish basically from the moment I started following Wolves.

If I'd followed the wishes of my Dad & Uncles I would have been a Man
Utd fan and they even took me to Old Trafford for my first ever match -
Man Utd v Southampton in the snow to try and brainwash me early before I
knew of any other teams. Oh well, if only I'd listened.

But they won that after Wolves won the league cup.

Wrong, it was actually the UEFA cup with Ipswich against AZ
Alkmar.

Ipswich after they won the FA Cup, then Wolves after the League
Cup? You should have kept going with that process. You could have
moved through Villa and Spurs during the 80s and then settled on Man Utd
for the last 20 years. You could have been a serial glory hunter.

Probably better to classify me as being young and
impressionable and in fact my first visit to the Mol was to watch
ipswich but I got converted to my local team

Just after they won the League Cup eh?

Strictly speaking wouldn't that define you as a glory
hunter?

no, it was Ipswich actually, but close enough I
guess. I started following Wolves in the 1980-1 season when my dad
started taking me there as Ipswich was too far to travel every weekend.

I thought you were a Norwich fan originally
anyway Marcus?
