Whenever Mick makes one of his left back themed substitutions he never removes our totally inept starting left back. The other week against Wigan I was bemused to see Elokobi warming up, thinking 'Why would you swap one average left back for another?'. My bemusement levels failed to cope with what happened next, as he removed Fletcher, pushing Ward into midfield, with Elokobi replacing him at left back. I'm not a big fan of booing, but the Thick tag is definitely gaining credibility. 'Putting in a shift' being put ahead of footballing ability is staring to wear a bit thin now as well. I'd much rather deprive myself of sleep to see blokes who can pass a ball than ones who can run back quickly after they've mis-passed it.

Our first "tactical" sub will involve a left back. A forward for a left back, who plays in midfield. Then a midfielder for a forward with 5 minutes to go in a must win game. This modern game has me confused. Even more confusing are those who reckon we should persevere with the ****. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of paul Sent: Sunday, 17 October 2010 2:46 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [BTMO] Re: Wigan - Roll Call Jelle Van Rubbish! Why take Fletcher off when we have to win? Fingers crossed for a lucky late goal! ------Original Message------ To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [BTMO] Re: Wigan - Roll Call Sent: Oct 3, 2010 9:17 PM The sooner we appoint Martin O'Neil the better! MM is out of his depth, time for a change in a few games time if this bad run continues. ------Original Message------ From: Jeremy Tonks Sender: [email protected] To: [email protected] ReplyTo: [email protected] Subject: RE: [BTMO] Re: Wigan - Roll Call Sent: Oct 3, 2010 7:56 PM Well we can't sink too much lower (the only team below are my beloved Saddlers in League One L) We do need to beat West Ham. Disappointed that Everton won - one of my mate's here is a Toff. That's true too. It's only me and you left now Jeremy. Paul Crowe joined the dark side last week when Wolves denied him his nookie. I'm not sure about Matt Leese. I think he might be on the turn. He's about the only person I can see who'd be better than MM (that we could attract). I'm not signing up for the BTMO club any time soon. I'm glad I didn't have to watch last night! We're certainly not good enough to play anyone with only 10men for 80mins. We survived last season and we might survive this season. A win against West Ham and a point off one of the top four and we'll be OK. I don't see how we can expect to win games with ten men for most of the match. It's hard enough in this league with eleven. It was a poor performance but what did everyone expect? Some kind or Roy Of The Rovers miracle where someone scores a last gasp winner having played on with two broken legs.
