We could be close to negotiating a Thick Mick settlement here. These are the
terms I require:

If we:

· get more than 3 points away from the remaining games; and

· don't get relegated,

then I will agree that Mick is great and I shall never speak ill of him again,
in person or by email (unless drunk at the time of writing or verbalisation).

How's that?

I'l make a wager with you.

If we get fewer than 3 away points for the rest of the season, I'll agree that
Mick is rubbish and I shall join you in the vociferous call for him to be
sacked.

If we get 3 away points or more, you have to agree that Mick is great and never
speak ill of him again, in person or by email.

This bet is in your favour as you project that we'll get less than 2 so the
odds are stacked against me. I'll assume if you decline this wager that you
really believe that we will do better on the road than your predictions reveal.

So far this season we have averaged 0.31 points per game, so with 6 away games
remaining we should expect a return of 1.85 points. Given 1.85 is an
impossibility, we are either going to draw one game or over-achieve and draw 2
games. Either way, it doesn't look particularly rosy.

But we should never let stats get in the way of a good story or prediction.
