Ive removed all the DNS and DHCP entries for the computer, and even deleted
the computer account from the Users and Computers snap in (allowing me to
re-add it from the client when joining the domain.)
In TCPIP properties, I identified only the IP address (made sure it was
unique) and the subnet (made sure it was the same as the domain) and left
off the DNS and gateway information. I can ping all the machines via IPs as
well as by name ('ping computername' works fine).
The NIC is fine, the cables have been replaced, I cant find any other
references to this machine on the domain...and when attempting to add it to
the domain, I immediately get "domain name invaild or does not exist..."
Any ideas about where else to look?
Thanks for all the help.

Also, you may run across this problem if your name resolution is not working
properly. Try my previous reccomendations. Then once set manually, make sure
you add a wins server to the wins tab in TCP/IP properties. If resolution
isn't occuring correctly, you will not be able to join the domain.
