You are correct Ben. It isn't just a blank floppy. In fact if you put a
blank floppy in, it will complain and not use it.
You can DL the floppy here

I beg to differ. It isn't just a blank diskette. If it was, you could
use any formatted blank floppy to do the trick. It is a separate
download on Compaq's website. I had to use it once, and I can verify
that regular blank floppies don't work. Just do a search on their
support site for the server profile diskette. You should find a
download that will create it for you. The rest of your statement is
pretty accurate.

It's one of the options if you let the SmartStart CD autorun. It's just
a blank disk SmartStart uses as scrap to save information about your
configuration choices between reboots.

I finally can turn my attention back to this. Running the system erase
utility help immensely, but unfortunately the unassisted installation
requires a server profile disk and I don't have it. (this is not a new
server) Is there a way to recreate the server profile diskette(s)

Thanks,
Duane

If you use smarts start with the assisted option, it should walk you
through all of those steps. If it doesn't, then run the system erase
utility on the smart start menu, and this will allow you to start all
over from the beginning. Also make sure your first boot device in the
bios is set to the scsi controller that the drives are attached to. Not
sure if you have an additional controller, but that would cause
confusion.

I'm using SmartStart 4.80. From the documentation I have documentation I
have it appears that I should see icons in the SmartStart control panel
to configure the raid array, but nothing appears.
