There is a phone number that you can call, to buy a subscription to it, I
don't have it off hand, it's not really expensive, if you don't buy new
servers on a regular basis you should get a subscription.

I'd really be able to just download an iso, but it doesn't appear that it's
out there. The current shipping version is 5.1 and we have been getting
that with servers lately. I'd check with other folks in town who get a lot
of servers, most larger shops will have several copies laying around.
Good luck,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin. For all intents and purposes, it is a "blank" diskette. I
know a blank diskette won't work, that's why I mentioned that one would need
to be created. I meant "blank" in that it is a "scratch pad" for
SmartStart.
Sorry for being a little too free with the language. You guys are way too
tough on a guy sometimes. ;-)

Smartstart 4.8 will not likely have the stuff necessary for that system,
drivers and such. The latest version is 5.10, perhaps 5.2 has come out, but
just in the last week or so.
You should use the latest SmartStart, it's a LOT better.
The diskette is almost blank, it has 1 empty file named spd.ini on it. You
can just do a
"copy con a:\spd.ini" follow that with a ^Z to close the file, all will be
well.
Good luck,
Kevin

I found it after using the search. I also found the ACU that I am missing. I
had tried the blank diskette during the setup and it didn't work for me
either.
Thanks,
Duane

I beg to differ. It isn't just a blank diskette. If it was, you could use
any formatted blank floppy to do the trick. It is a separate download on
Compaq's website. I had to use it once, and I can verify that regular blank
floppies don't work. Just do a search on their support site for the server
profile diskette. You should find a download that will create it for you.
The rest of your statement is pretty accurate.

It's one of the options if you let the SmartStart CD autorun. It's just a
blank disk SmartStart uses as scrap to save information about your
configuration choices between reboots.

I finally can turn my attention back to this. Running the system erase
utility help immensely, but unfortunately the unassisted installation
requires a server profile disk and I don't have it. (this is not a new
server) Is there a way to recreate the server profile diskette(s)
Thanks,
Duane

If you use smarts start with the assisted option, it should walk you through
all of those steps. If it doesn't, then run the system erase utility on the
smart start menu, and this will allow you to start all over from the
beginning. Also make sure your first boot device in the bios is set to the
scsi controller that the drives are attached to. Not sure if you have an
additional controller, but that would cause confusion.

I'm using SmartStart 4.80. From the documentation I have documentation I
have it appears that I should see icons in the SmartStart control panel to
configure the raid array, but nothing appears.
