You can setup a cname entry in your DNS server to basically be an alias to
your server name. For example if you are typing http://servername/website
then you can make a cname "whatever" and have it point to "servername" so it
will look like this. http://whatever/website. Make sense?

Subject: Off topic: IIS under AD question: Naming
I know this is off topic, but I don't know where else to ask.
Since IIS falls under AD in Windows 2k, I thought I would ask here.
I am setting up an intranet set for the company and right now I browse to
the site by typing in the name of the server on which the site is located.
Can I change this to something else, and if so how? Or do I need to
change the name of the computer?
Any suggestions would be appreciated as I'm not familiar with IIS - and I
don't know if I really want to be!
