sounds like a replication issue. Check your PDC and BDC event logs and look
to see if partial replication is working. Sounds like if it is hitting the
PDC for a login it works but if it didn't replicate to the BDC and it is
hitting that one to authenticate is won't work. Had a similar issue with
user accounts not working and it turned out that if I restarted the netlogon
server on the PDC it would replicate to all BDC's okay but partial updates
wouldn't work.

Subject: Win2K Login

Strange problem:
Sometimes and the key word is "sometimes", the login will fail with
a valid username and password. The message Win2K gives is "The system cannot
log you in... the computer account is not listed.....". If I login locally
and then logoff; log back in as the user that was rejected then it allows
the user to login. This occurs randomly and intermitently. Any ideas what is
going on and how to correct so that I don't get calls from users who can't
login?

THANKS!!
