Check to see if all your DC's have the remote registry service enabled. Someone in my company turned this off for security and we could not add users to global groups via the AD user and computers snapin. We could do it from the PDC. Maybe when you try to authenticate to the DC that doesn't have it turned on it fails. Worth a look see.

The message Win2K gives is "The system cannot log you in... the computer account is not listed.....". If I login locally and then logoff; log back in as the user that was rejected then it allows the user to login. This occurs randomly and intermitently. Any ideas what is going on and how to correct so that I don't get calls from users who can't login?
