I am attempting to setup a series of Certificate Authorities. I have created standalone Root CA and a subordinate standalone Root CA. My next step is to create the Enterprise CA's (a root and sub).
When I try to create the Enterprise Root CA I get an error message: "An error occurred when generating the key "<severname>" for the Certificate Services service. Either the CSP configuration is not complete or the key length is not supported. Please make sure the CSP is installed correctly or select another CSP. An internal error occurred. 0x80090020 (-2146893792)" This message pops up after I type in the description data, server name, etc, click next. In the background it says generating cryptographic key. When I attempt to load CA services on what should be my Ent Sub Root CA, only the Stand-alone options are available. Server Specs: Windows 2000 SP2 DC running AD One other note...CA services were running on these boxes in the past, but were removed. Any ideas? William L.
