May I ask from everyone who has this problem 1. Is the dit, tx log, OS, page file on seperate drives or how are they configured. 2. How many objects are in the DIT and how many MB does it take up. 3. The dit is on a hardware based SCSI Raid 5 or Raid 1? 4. You are using the maching just as a DC and nothing else. 5. Have you done any maintenance on AD lately?

Nothing else can be done during that time as that function seems to take almost 100% processing time and pings fail from clients for that 30-60 seconds. No other desktop process run on the server (W2K, SP2) seems to cause this problem. Any thoughts on the cause or cure?
