Because some apps (like Excel) work in the following manner:

When you open a file, it simply creates a temp file with a random
name, and when you save it, it deletes the original file, and renames
the temp file to the original name.

Also, some apps generate temp files which are created and then deleted
in the process of making a single data file.  Being unable to delete
these files would be problematic.


Your planned configuration should be fine.
