Of course not, these are Senior VPs who want a computer that does everything for them (i.e start up before they walk in, query email, etc)
The perceived benefit to a W2k "required" logon seemed perfect. Until someone found tweakui v 1.33. Now logons just take too long. I imagine that there will have to be some autologon using biometrics when it becomes mainstream. Kind of a waste -eh? -----Original Message----- From: Ryan Malayter [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, November 02, 2001 9:30 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Auto logon in W2k....? I hope those are kiosk machines or something... Auto-logon is (of course) a very bad idea, security-wise. :::Ryan Malayter, MCSE :::Bank Administration Institute :::Chicago, Illinois, USA -----Original Message----- From: Paul Done [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, November 02, 2001 11:26 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Auto logon in W2k....? Well I stand corrected, the way I read the Q234562 from Microsoft, I understood it could not be done. This was a welcome change since I had a building full of Tweakui in W9x. Thanks for all the responses and so quickly. Yup, you actually can change this setting in the local security policy if not an AD domain. "Disable Ctr+Alt+Delete requirement for logon". This will automatically log the machine on to the domain. Hoping someone can settle a question between a colleague and myself. Can a W2k Pro machine autologon to a w2k or NT4 domain? I didn't think so (cite Q234562), but he swears it can be done. If it can be done....how?
