You cannot configure Win2K as a BDC in an NT4 domain.

Subject: New Server - NT4 or W2K?

Our organization has an NT4 domain with several Windows 2000 member servers
and all new workstations will be Windows 2000 as we add them. We've
recently realized that we need a BDC at a remote location. We plan on going
AD at some point, but haven't even begun looking into migration issues. My
question (probably a simple one) is whether I can configure a Windows 2000
Server as a BDC in a NT4 domain. I'm assuming the answer is no, but hoping
that somebody is able to say "yes" and explain how to accomplish this. If I
can avoid it, I would prefer to allow attrition to handle a great deal of my
95/NT upgrades to 2000 rather than perform OS upgrades.

Thanks in advance
