In a Windows 2000 Printer Setup dialogue box, the option is given to
"Connect to a printer on the Internet or on your intranet".
Here are my questions:
1. Does anyone know what's involved in setting up these URL's?
2. If so, how?
3. After doing so, can you just create a page on your Intranet which
says something like the following:
Click to add any of the following printers:
<a
href="http://intranet/support/printers/programming.html">Programming
Office Printer</a>
<a
href="http://intranet/support/printers/admin.html">Administration Office
Printer</a>
And have a user click on the link for the printer to Install? I would
assume this would go through some sort of Internet Explorer security
validation check before allowing a printer to be installed via URL.
Anyone had any success at setting this up?
