I don�t know what it is. But you need to keep those names 8 or under or
9x wont see em.

Are you sure its 8?  Where do you get 8 from?  NetBIOS names are 16
characters (15 for the name and 1 for the name type).  Windows 98 runs a
NetBIOS protocol and can therefore see NetBIOS names at their full
length.

I know it's a problem (that is, Win98 clients not being able to see
printers, coz I've had it too).

Uh-huh.

**ANOTHER** bug.

In fact a magazine in Australia called "PC User" released their latest
mag with a cover CD that had in large letters: "YOUR FIRST (Unofficial)
WINDOWS XP PATCH!!".  It was in fact a nVidia driver fix, however it
seemed ironic that they were excited to release a patch for Windows
already.

I thought it was funny anyway :-)
