Since you cross-posted this, you have probably already gotten several answers. Martin's answer was the best - use the IE6 IE administration kit to build an install. This will download all the components and allow you to customize your install - keeping in mind that on win2k and XP you still can't customize the install. The options that are selected cannot be changed. I remember that when I first downloaded IE6, I did it from a 98 box. But later, I did it via the IE6 IEAK. Worked great.
