Then re-install and use the NTFS file system to avoid having this type
of
problem in the future...

Seriously, if chkdsk doesn't fix the problem, you may be stuck
rebuilding
the machine...  Who knows what kind of cross-linked files you've got on
there now.....

Is there anything one can do when your file allocation table is bad? I
have
a laptop that was having issues Win2k SP2, and now it won't boot, nor
repair. And when I try to boot to dos and save the files on it I get.
