Could also be network related. Is this server on a separate subnet? It could
be intermittent problems with the Master Browsers updating the Domain Master
Browser.

I have a similar problem. One server disappears for a few moments at a
time. No one usually notices but the backup, which runs over the network
between two servers does (because it requires a full time connection for the
2.5 hrs it runs the backup). Even a card to card (with cross-over cable)
doesn't maintain a full-time, uninterrupted, connection.

If anyone has a cure, please email me directly.

Thanks,

Bill
