We have migrated about 10 people to XP and they complain that the "network
is slower". Whatever that means....

It appears to me that it takes a considerably longer time for them to save a
network based file. Such as an Excel file. In 98 they could save it in about
1 second. Now it takes 10....and I am clueless as to why.

It's cooler. :)
I like that reason.

Call me crazy, but I personally like 2000 better then XP as far as
stability. XP has been phenomenal at finding new hardware and installing it.
I find XP to be a little buggy still. Ever since my change over, I noticed
apps freezing at times.
But again I can't complain about the boot time XP has. I was incredibly
impressed at how fast XP boots up. Driver rollback option, recovery is
incredibly simple with XP. Remote desktop connection in XP is really slick.
I think it's better then Terminal Services

You should try them both out. Maybe do some bench marks on things that are
important to your company. I think you will find that they both have pluses
and minuses, just a matter of what is important to you.

1 - You'll get support from Microsoft (and 3rd party vendors) longer -- and
thus enjoy a longer duration before considering the next migration

2 - It has some features that Win2K does not (like Remote Assistance)

3 - Frankly, it's cooler (not that this should matter in a business
setting)

4 - You should test it out and see if it is right for your environment
