There's no partition table. He needs to restore the partition table, or create a new one before Win2K can do a directory listing. There are several programs around that will recognize an NTFS partition structure and then copy the files out of it from one volume to another. I had to do this to 40 Gb of data when I did the exact same stupid thing you did. Luckily it was only my home machine and nothing that could get me fired. My steps for a solution: 1) Research and find software that will restore a broken NTFS partition. 2) FOUND: "GetDataBack for NTFS" at http://www.runtime.org Option a) If you are serious about getting your data back, register the product, otherwise you will be able to only view the data structure. Option b) Crack the software and restore your data. That's what I did. <CLAUSE> Of course running the crack on the software was only accidental, and I had only realized that the software had been cracked *after* I had restored all my data, at which point I removed the offending software. </CLAUSE> Believe what you will :) ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
