Can you ping the bdc by host name? Is this BDC a domain controller of your local domain or is it on it's own domain? If the BDC is on its own domain, and you can ping it by host name, then go into user mangler and build a trust relationship. NT 4.0 uses WINS to communicate, so as long as you have a WINS mapping for the computer you are referring and your router is setup for route to that IP class then you should be fine.

I have a remote office connected via VPN. How do I connect a BDC from that office to my existing domain? Can I refer to the BDC by ip address? The other office uses a different ip address scheme than the main office so this adds to the difficulty. Thanks! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
