But if we kicked out the people who had no business administering the systems they administer, I'd have way too much work on my hands! ;-)

I know nothing about SQL except how to install it, and how to restore a backup. I don't think it gets much easier. -----Original Message----- From: Morgan, Joshua [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, January 24, 2002 8:54 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: BackupEXEC Here is what they told my CIO before I started If you back up a back up file with BE then support is only responsible for restoring that file. However, of you backup SQL, Exchange, or whatever with BE then support is responsible for helping you restore the Databases. I'm not sure what BE thinks they offer that you can't do with SQL Enterprise Manager already. Believe it or not, it actually worked. I did have some issues with putting things in the correct state and the order in which things were restored and such, but it worked, including the complete restoration of ALL meta-databases. I had to rebuild the server this beast was on because the folks who built it originally totally hosed it. I know I'm probably the exception that makes the rule, but it did work for me... eventually. -Chris -----Original Message----- From: Wes Owen [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, January 21, 2002 10:16 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: BackupEXEC If it were just the SQL file in use it would be a different error message and just skip the files. -----Original Message----- From: Andrew S.
