Mornin' So I set up a laptop (win2k) for a user here, and he needed IIS on it (to do demos for clients). Here's the order I followed:
1- Clean install of OS 2- Added/Removed Windows components and services as needed (ie, add IIS, remove FTP, etc) 3- Ran SP2 4- Ran MS's IIS lockdown tool 5- Ran Pre-SP3 patches and hotfixes (Q285851, Q287397, Q301625 IIS Rollup) 6- Installed McAffee and got the latest engine and dats 7- Installed a coffee. This particular user dialed up to his ISP and got nailed with nimdA and I'm fraught with feelings of guilt. Did I get the order wrong?
