try running:

  mmc /a

then add the Schema Master plug-ing

may not be installed by default, check technet

Eric,

I think there is some sort of "schema master" snap-in for the MMC that lets
you change which computer has this role, may do what you are looking for,
sorry can't be more help, not used this before, and not sitting in front of
a W2k server to check,

then move the FSMO roles as desired.

something like that - you will need to ensure that the snap-in connects
to
the machine that you wish to transfer the FSMO roles to.

I want to transfer this role (schema owner) from one domain controller
to another domain controller? Does anyone know how to accomplish this?


I am getting this information via "netdom query FSMO"
