I have 2 subnets, one for 2000 and one for unix. I installed dns on a DC (incredible he:) and I manually inserted the unix machines in the dns. When I logon with a 2000 prof machine I get a ip, dns settings, gateway,.. from the 2000 DC. (=dns server, dhcp server,..) When i ping to the unix_server i get a reply. BUT after a hile, i can not point to a specific time, I get unknown host when I ping to the unix_server. When I type ipconfig /registerdns on the 2000 prof machine and then ping unix_server I get again a reply.
It's like the 2000 prof pc lose registration in the dns server. Can I solve this problem and what do I have to do? Thanks for your help... Kurt ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
